Importing Address Book

Been wanting to easily access Westminster College's email addresses
from the Unix Lab? Well, here's how to do it.
We have a copy of the address book saved on our server and these
instructions should get you using them quickly and easily.
Here are the mail clients we have in the lab and instructions on how to
import into them:
Pine
Evolution
Mozilla
Pine
- Copy the /remote/mail/addressbook.pine to your home directory.
cp /remote/mail/addressbook.pine ~
- Start pine from the command line interface.
- Press '
s' to select "Setup"
- Press '
a' to select "Address Book"
- Press '
a' to add a new personal address book.
- Leave the "Server Name" field blank, type
~/addressbook.pine
into the "Folder Name" field, and if you would like a nickname for the
address book, put it into the "Nickname" field.
- Press Ctrl+x to exit and save. Answer yes to any questions it may ask.
- Press '
e' to exit setup.
- Press '
a' to enter the address book.
- Highlight the new address book and press enter and look around to ensure the data was imported correctly.
Evolution
- Open Evolution.
- Choose File > Import.
- Click Next.
- Choose "Import a single file." and click Next.
- In the "Filename" box, type
/remote/mail/addressbook.VCF.
Choose "vcard" under the "File Type" menu and click Next.
- Click Import.
- Check the "Contacts" folder to ensure all addresses were imported
correctly.
Mozilla
- Open Mozilla.
- Choose Window > Address Book.
- Choose Tools > Import.
- Select "Address Book" and click Next.
- Choose "Text File" and click Next.
- Make sure "Files of type" is set to "LDIF".
- Choose file
/remote/mail/addressbook.ldif
